VNIIA is designing and producing the portable X-ray units for such applications as:

  • Radiography and radioscopy in the stationary and field environment;
  • Non-destructive control of the material and products, welding joints and casts using radiography and radioscopy;
  • Luggage and post inspection;
  • Medicine (digital radiographic scanners).

The Institute specializes in the production of small-size constant anode potential X-ray generators with power of up to 4 kW.

The Institute leans heavily on the more-than-fifty-year experience in the development of special purpose electrophysical and high-voltage equipment, as well as on its own unique technologies.

VNIIA develops and manufactures monoblock-type X-ray generators with mid-frequency conversion in the main circuit and adjustable constant stabilized anode voltage.

To attain constant voltage, voltage multiplication diode-capacitor circuits are used.

VNIIA experience and technologies allow developing and manufacturing all parts and assembly units of X-ray monoblocks, including high-voltage transformers, capacitors and X-ray tubes.

Special filling technologies using solid and liquid dielectrics ensure high quality and reliability of high-voltage assembly units.

Monoblocks employ X-ray tubes manufactured by the closed joint-stock company Svetlana-Rentgen or tubes developed in VNIIA.

The X-ray equipment designed by VNIIA is remarkable for:

  • Small weight and overall dimensions;
  • Electric safety;
  • Wide operating range (temperature, humidity, mechanical load).

The specifications of the X-ray units:

  • Weight 2.5 to 15 kg;
  • Quantum energy 50 to 300 keV;
  • Power at the anode 50 to 4,000 W.
