The Institute formed robotics division. The main objective is to develop self-propelled controlled vehicles equipped with remote-controlled robotic manipulators, to be used for emergency response after major accidents, primarily accidents at radiation hazardous facilities. Development of such technology requires progress in special scientific disciplines in the field of robotics, computing, telemetry, radiation measurements, etc.
A number of robotic technologies meant for using during emergency response after potential accidents and disasters is being designed.
